fosmanc wrote I don't see why you would care so much about what others spend their money on. I don't see it as a waste of money. In a way it's like asking why people buy expensive cars. In the grand scheme of things, a cheaper car does the same thing as the more expensive one, which is get you to and from your destination. Obviously the more expensive car will be a more comfortable ride and whatnot so this isn't the greatest example, but I hope you see what I'm getting at. I know that wasn't a great example and obviously could be and probably will be argued with, but that's the way I see it.

Yes i understand what your saying, thank you for your opinion.

xKizza wrote I enjoy to play Counter Strike Global Offensive and it is one of my favorite games at the moment. But features of this game have been slowly irritating me over time to the point i have to rant about it. Why are people buying knifes for $100+ for a game, doesn't that sound really stupid to you? I'd like to know everyone's opinion on the pricing of counter strike, surely its not only me that finds $100 even for a game steep? :suicide:

I think that you thinking its dumb for them to buy a knife is dumb. Who cares?

I only care because that money could have went to charity instead of a stupid gun skin, or knife.

Some of the posts on this topic are so ignorant, people can spend their money however they want. As already mentioned, many people will trade up to make more money. Calling these 'stupid' is your opinion which you are entitled to, but don't try to project that opinion as a fact, that just makes you look pathetic.

I'll put my point of view an analogy actually. Okay so why do people gamble? Exactly you don't know why.. Some do it for the sheer enjoyment that they might recieve from winning while others might do it to make money.. This can be the same with Counter-Strike. Of course people are going to invest money into a game they enjoy it's common sense. It's like you buying a DLC for a game you really enjoy or you buying shoes because you collect them. People collect these knives and they enjoy it! There's nothing you and I can do to stop it. Personal preference is what it comes down in the end.

I mean, it's not a waste of money if you enjoyed what you spent it on. It's not like people are spending all their money and depriving their kids/family so they can feed their CS:GO gambling addiction. It's simply something people do that they enjoy when they have to money to do it.

Not to mention you can always sell knives/skins for real money, you can almost always get your money back.

There's alot of money to be made from getting lucky and from trading. But the chances of getting an exceedingly rare item is incredibly low.

People have their own opinion on how they should spend their money, but people who play these games for like say twitch streaming and make money, maybe want to make their load-out look all cool. I have no problem with that. But people have their own money to spend on what they want. If you don't want to spend $200 to buy yourself a amazing looking knife in game, that's good for you! don't. But say I wanted to, I can, I earned that money and I'm allowed to do what I want. You also have to think, some people out there have jobs still living with their parents and don't have to pay rent, so they usually don't pay for anything and they are just receiving a lot of money for spending, so they buy all these items. (Some do pay rent i'm talking about people who don't)

I have a friend that buys skins, trades skins, and opens cases for a living. He literally makes YouTube videos which gains him money, trades up/sells skins which gains him money, and gives away skins which gains him a following as well as gaining him money.

TL;DR It is their money.

@OP: what does it matter to you how they spend it?
