Do not waste your time trying to do this, it's a waste of toothpaste and is not the correct way to fix oxidized headlights.

This reminds me of the cleaning discs with toothpaste, i think i'll just stick to using it for my teeth.

Cleaned the lights on my Grandma's whip a few weeks back and they came up really goood. Took about 4 times to get them perfectly clear but it did work really well.
@Matt. It's not like toothpaste is highly expensive. Picked up 2 tubes at the 99p store, bargain fam.

There is a MUCH easier way, I already made a thread on it. Feel free to give it a shot, it will take you 60 seconds or less to clear up your lights.
