Qwel wrote If someone is pointing a gun at me and for some weird reason I a resonable human being seem to have a gun also? And I SHOOT the other person I would not shoot him and then run? Just because you shoot someone doesnt mean they cant just shoot me when they are on the ground or just in pain leaning or something.. If someone was pointing a gun at me and I so happened to shoot them first out of defence I would shoot them tackle them or get their arms while they are on the floor, put them behind his back, out a knee on them and call the police
As for everything ekse yeah, I agree. I see videos on facebook of like "fights" that claim to be self defence and when the "attacker" falls or something the "victim" will kick them in the face or something.. At that point youve won you proved your point.. Once you kick someone after clearly winning its no longer self defence
ALSO I find it kind of funny how you of all people made this rant after you made downvotes on that kevin gates post.. Kicking someone is not self defence for reaching at your pants
The only reason i made this rant was because i recently had a essay in my english class and we talked about self defense and i learned more about it, what i said about kevin gates was wrong. As for the first part of your post, i didn't say that you shoot them and then you run, i said that you shoot them then they drop the gun and run, but i understand what you mean.

Mubb wrote Although, If they do attack you, leading to you defending yourself, and then you both continue to exchange blows, you can still successfully claim self defense.
Yes that is true, because that person is still a threat.

F4VRE wrote Equating school fights and justified shootings is a bit much.
Let's out it this way someone is holding up the cash register at my local quicky mart with a pistol. If I have a CC Pr even OC license I'm not shooting to hurt I'm shooting to kill. But if he gets hit and runs away like out the doors into the street that's where it gets questionable. He still has a gun and is in a populated area, do you proceed to chase after him? It is debatable.
As far as school fights go I don't give a shit. If I dislike you enough to wanna fight you I'm swinging first. That is stupid why would I give you a free hit we are gonna both be in the same amount of trouble.
I know those are two different situations. But you have the right to shoot someone holding up a store, you can still say self defense for someone else, as for when he runs out of the store, you could chase him because he is still a threat to other people, but you could stay and protect your self and the person that was being robbed(if i was the robber, then i would just try to leave the scene and not go on a killing spree, but that is just me). I agree with your last part of the post, if im going to fight someone then im going to go for the first punch because it only takes on punch to knock you out, and if you give them the first punch then you could be knocked out.

So true though.
Most people don't actually know what self defense is.
And, @ the begging you said if someone hits you and you beat the crap out of them, if they started it, they deserve a painful ending.
Im not saying that the person doesn't deserve it, but they can't claim self defense.
It's just people that think they're the strongest person out there, that can beat the fu*k out of anyone, but clearly can't if they won't do anything or say anything to there face.

I haven't thought of that before, but i agree. People act tough but won't even throw the first punch. If im going to fight someone( At my school it doesn't matter if you started it or not, your both getting arrested and fined $750 unless the other person just assaulted you) im going to want to get the first punch on them and then just continue, letting someone else get the first punch is not a smart idea, because all it takes to knock someone out is one punch and your done.

All the above statements are bare shocking... A painful ending? Pahaha, get real. You're swinging first? They can get you on assault, gl with that one. Getting the first punch? You're the aggrevator then...
I suppose when you lot grow up your mindset with change, I've never had a fight nor will I ever, there aren't many situations that can't be dissolved by conversation :coffee:
Just because you throw the first punch, doesn't mean that your the aggrevator, and if the two people get into a fight, then it isn't assault.
