For you info during his talk he said the UK has stopped at least six attacks on Britian in the last 12 months. People forget our good British is, the last major terrorist attack in this country was over 10 years ago by two months
That still doesn't mean we aren't gonna have a terrorist attack tomorrow or the next day does it? If they are just randomly letting people in assuming they're fine then I seriously am losing the will to live. He needs to honestly get sacked.

We aren't just letting anyone one in though. We are taking 20,000 over a 5 year period but only from the camps in Syria and countries around it, we aren't accepting the refugees currently in Europe, the other countries are dealing with them. I'm sure also that these people from the camps will be fully checked on security databases once they arrive in the country. Also Cameron specifically only said Syrian refugees, none from other countries, which eliminates threats from people that a re coming from countries like Iraq, Libya and Afghanistan

So just because he said it that means it's true?

Well I for one can't wait for the attacks to begin and the beheadings to begin in the UK then maybe, just maybe they might get extradited back to where they belong!

Britain took in 80,000 Jewish refugees at the start of WW2 escaping Nazi occupation, I bet if that was happening today everyone would welcome them. It was found only just under 600 of those Jewish refugees were considered high security risks due to them possibly being Nazi spies or whatever, so when we are letting in 20,000 Syrians over a 5 year period that number of high security risks, realistically probably won't be anymore than around 200.

The prime minister said the UK had a "moral responsibility" to resettle refugees living in camps bordering Syria while also doing all it can to end the conflict in the country.

Vulnerable children and orphans would be prioritised in what would be a "national effort", Mr Cameron said.

France earlier announced that it would take in 24,000 refugees over the next two years.

I think this is a joke! Our country is on its arse we need to help the homeless and 16-19 year olds to jobs. Before we let more in.

Na, giving foreign people houses and shit before anyone else who actually lives here is way more important.
The prime minister is scared to say no he said last week on the news that we need to help people in our own country before we help others he's a hypocrite.

For all you complaining, you need to realise just how many people immigrate to the UK every year. 20,000 over a 5 year period is nothing. You cannot sit back and complain about these refugees when other countries are taking in significantly more than us. Instead of being a snob, try and put yourself in there shoes for a moment. I'm sure they would immigrate to any country they can in order to stay safe. No, they do not think 'lets go to the UK and get a free house and benefits' they are simply trying to stay alive.

nothing but ignorance in this post to be honest, not going to bother trying to say something constructive because i'll just get racist replies back.

England i'll admit is densely populated in some areas but I feel around the edge of towns in Scotland and England do have space, this "we have enough people view" is total bullshit,20 Thousand greatful hardworking people will be great for this country, yeah I get a lot of them won't work but a good amount will,The UK's attitude to work right now isn't amazing. Even at that when the crisis is over I can see most of the regugees going back to their country and homes, They won't be here forever

Considering how many other European countries are taking we're doing the bare minimum here, Germany is expected to take between 500,000-800,000 alone and not the only country to do so in Britain since we're a island we're skipping a bullet.

Most of them end up in England somewhere down the line

Miss wrote To all of you complaining about this, perhaps you should all tell your governments to quit bombing these countries, which, in turn creates these refugees.

We get involved in every foreign affair then moan when it backfires
I couldn't agree more with this.
