I see people saying that certain PSU's/PSU Series are inefficient, make a lot of noise, ect.

If you know any bad PSU's list them & why.

Hopefully it'll shed some light on certain PSU's & maybe help some people looking to build a PC in the future.

We're not going to list every single bad quality PSU that exists... If people want to know then they can look through the common PC nerds recent posts to see which units they are criticizing.

Il break it down into a few categories.

Much power for cheap - 750w PSU for less than a tenner made by a no brand name like ACE and whatnot. Terrible and will mostly will blow instantly.

Dank LED's - Same for the above. Most PSU's dont have LED' but the ones that do, be skeptical of them and research them before buying.

Mainstream "gaming" brands - Like Corsair, EVGA ect. Research before buying. They dont make the PSU, they just whack thier name over the top of it. OEM's like Superflower, Seasonic and DeltaPower actually make power supplies.

OEM brands - People that actually make the powersupply before someone actually whacks a lable on it.

Good sources to check out

I cant stress how much that research is key to buying a power supply.

This is kind of spot on. I always check to see who actually makes the PSU in question, what capacitors are used and then check a Johnny Guru review for the unit. Budget Corsair units tend to use poor OEMs that build PSUs with cheap, Chinese capacitors. There are cheap, good quality units available that use good quality capacitors, so it's worth checking the information on any PSU before buying. Granted, lesser quality units can suffice, but why not buy the best that you can for your money, instead of wasting it on poorer components?
