Let's look at MPG first. 5.0 gets 15 mpg, and the 3.7 gets 19 (this is city). 4 mpg is is a lot, especially when you have to walk 4 miles lol.

Maybe if you are immature and want to be the first guy off the line when the light turns green, sure, but for those of us getting out of child hood, we just care about looks. MPG > power. Also a V6 will be cheaper on insurance than a big ole 5.0L or 5.8L engine.

The Mustang in my mind is better known for the light weight 351, the 390, and the 429 motors.


Well the GT gets 18 city which I would imagine would be the one he'd get if he was buying a V8. Also you'd pick a Prius over say an NSX? come on don't kid yourself, you even drive a V8 truck man haha smiles per gallon right?

You best hope you have friends who don't know about cars because if you were my friend i would give you shit until the end of time for being a V6 when you could have bought a GT.

Please, insurance isn't that bad at all. I drive a V8 5.7L daily, insurance is really cheap (for me) under full coverage. (Also 18 years old). MPG is fantastic, also not crying about that because again I love it, brings me joy every time i start her up and listen to that engine purr.

You don't see me crying about driving a V8 because I god damn love it. It is the greatest.


I see that nothing is changing your mind, so go ahead and buy your V6 mustang for the looks and MPG, and enjoy it.

Payment would be over 300 dollars and then if you don't mind me asking how much is your insurance? Why would I spend half of my monthly income for a extra 100 horsepower? I do see your point, I will test drive a GT and then see, but thats an extra 8k for that man.


EDIT- Esurance wants 384 a month so yeah nope.

Stock my truck got like 14 or 16 city. Now with my lift and tires I get 10 on a good day lol. V8's and V10's belong in trucks because they haul and tow a bunch of stuff. Tell me the last time you put over 2k lbs in your car lol. You need a V8 to push 8k lbs of truck around. You don't need a V8 to push 3k lbs of car around.

Again, he wants MPG over how fast he can get a ticket. The V6 has PLENTY of power. Let's get some stats for you. The 3.7L v6 got from 0-60 in 5.3 seconds. The GT got from 0-60 in 4.4 seconds. The GT500 got from 0-60 in 3.7 seconds. Who wants to pay that much extra money in the initial purchase price, and gas to shave off less than a second on a 0-60 time? 99% of your driving won't be about how fast you can go 0-60.

but doesn't the 2015 F-150 have the most towing capacity of 12,000lbs with the EcoBoost V6? hmmmm. If he's this worried about MPG then why is he even considering a mustang. It's a sports car it's going to have poor MPG. If you're that worried then I suggest a diesel Jetta. And you can not even call yourself a car guy if you have no idea what the Acura/Honda NSX is..

Yes it does, that's nothing compared to the GCWR 22k lbs of the F-350 with the 6.2 V8 gas engine, or GCWR 40k lbs with the 6.7L V8 diesel engine.

Read the post, he wants a good looking car, and wants the smaller engine for MPG, and the simple fact it's 8k cheaper. The V6 Mustang fits this criteria.

IDC about mpg and I care about engine power. Like the dude said its a difference for a second, 8k for a second faster. I couldn't afford a GT anyways with the insurance, so yeah I'm happy with 300 horsepower for 14k-16k on a 2014 mustang v6 lol.
