Dinkleberg wrote Edited post. Wow I have not been following this. Im so out of it atm. I doubt this is a real Jailbreak. As you said, nothing to be excited about. Even if it was, it will most likely be patched within a few months. If there is an iOS 9 Jailbreak, there will have to be an iOS 8.4.1 Jailbreak soon.
Oh no, it's definitely a real jailbreak. It's just an old iboot exploit that still works, which is great news, but it's not going to be released anytime soon - especially if it still works on later released devices.
iH8Sn0w already said he will not be releasing this exploit. Because it's patchable by a software update. As soon as he releases it, it will be patched. This exploit is worth too much to release for Apple to just patch it up. It's been around for years and it's a lot more valuable than a regular jailbreak, like now for example, he can update to iOS 9 jailbroken. It's also useful for grabbing decryption keys as well I believe? I'm sure there are plenty more uses that I don't know about of the top of my head too. Basically he uses this exploit to snoop around. If he finds other exploits outside of his iBoot exploit, I wouldn't be surprised if he did release or help release a jailbreak with Taig or Pangu, but right now he has the best card in the deck, no reason to waste it.
To sum up; Great news that iboot exploit still works (for devs). Means very little currently for the average user that just wants a jailbreak - every bit helps though.

Interesting. Thanks for this! I have a feeling he wont release it though as it will be patched, most likely. If he does, great! Im not planning on updating to iOS 9 anytime soon when it comes out.

TaiG will have an iOS 9 jailbreak here soon enough that will break from 8.4.1-latest version of iOS 9 at the time of their jailbreak. Everyone just needs to be patient and let them work.
As for the jailbreak video above, pretty cool. But, don't really know if I buy into it yet.
