I have a early 2014 macbook air and i am taking a class on recording. Is my macbook air fit for recording? And if so what software should i use?

Well you can start off with the standard with the likes of GarageBand but if you want something more harder but better I would recommend Adobe Audition

From experience I would recommend the Audition it has more creative features

As an editor, I'd recommend useing Garageband until you get the hang of putting together and editing songs. After, if you wish, I'd recommend Final Cut Pro if you've got it, or can afford it.
