Depends on what kind of off roading you do. If you are rock climbing, you want torque, and diesels produce more torque than gas. Remember, HP is how fast you hit the wall, torque is how far you take it with you.

Beings that this G wagon thing starts at over 100k, 99% of people can't afford it. Not only that, but it can't tow worth a crap. These things are just over priced Jeeps in my book. I get that you like these over priced POS vehicles, but come on, at least try to make sense lol.

Now this is just me, but a stock G wagon starts at 115k, if I had that kind of money, I would spend a little bit more and build / buy project rattle trap.
