They need to run from a war-torn country just allow it, camerons plan of 20k allowed in 5-years is a JOKE. This crisis is happening now, we should take 20k people right now and more across 5-years.

The UK fuked these people by Arming assad with chemical weapons then arming ISIS(before they were ISIS) during the start of Syrias civil war. It is our responsibility to look after these people seeing as we shit on them.
You sir are a class a idiot and people like you are why the country is how it is

No, it's because of people like you - people who just want to bomb everything to "fix" problems.

If they come here, they should not get any benefits for 5 years.

So many ignorant youngens on this thread!!!! I never would've thought we could have young people posting with so little compassion!

Half of you sound like the degenerates that support Britain First. You obviously have NO idea about the turmoil they're going through. So what, the Gallaghers only get 200 quid a week off the government to smoke cigs, drink frosty jacks and reproduce like rabbits.

So what, a 24 year old John won't work at McDonalds cause he wants a 40k a year job with a pension, and he's got 2 GCSE's and a BTEC.

The refugees are fleeing their country cause we bomb them. They are fleeing their country because their homes are no longer standing, they've been destroyed. They are fleeing cause it's safer to get on a dingy boat and travel in terrible conditions than to stay in their country. They travel with injuries.

Wheres the compassion? Imagine, just imagine for one minute, if you were going through the same thing as them. Would you still sit there, behind your computer screen giving it the biggun about all this, or would you be escaping, trying to save yourself and your family?

Unbelievable.

I'd definitely want to leave and enter another country but not by storming their borders. Once these refugees have settled in some places they are demanding higher paying jobs. I'll look for the article but some country has refused to take anymore refugees because of this exact reason. The number one priority is take care of our people at home. If we have refugees living better than some homeless man in Detroit we have a major problem.

Oh but we let them live in better conditions than 10-15% of Americans.

The 'We have to look after our own people' argument is quite the effective straw man.
You're saying that the US and UK are incapable of dealing with both the refugees and homelessness at the same time.

Also, give them higher wages, or at least entertain their demands, or send them to their deaths?
Pretty easy answer for me.

no don't send them to their deaths just don't answer their demands. If they don't like it, tough. As far as the taking care of our own comment, Canada is in a recession right now and I'm almost certain the US and Euro economies aren't too hot. Instead of pointing fingers at European and North American/South American countries we should look to their neighbours are not accepting anybody at all. I can sure as he'll tell you UAE could support them.

Edit: I'll agree we should take a few and do our fair share but not do what Germany did in biting off more than we can chew. We should also watch out for ISIS because I guarantee a good percentage of them have ties and ISIS would love nothing more than a attack on American/UK soil.

Onty a small minority would actually come from ISIS itself, no one knows the exact estimate of how strong ISISis but many estimates point it to being up to 40,000 strong in Iraq and Syria combined, and considering around 4 million Syrians have been displaced, a handful from ISIS is a tiny number. ISIS aren't going to send a large amount of their own somewhere else as that would weaken themselves in their own area of conflict.

For the whole neighbour countries: Turkey, Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan and Egypt have all accepted a large amount of Syrian refugees. However it is different with the Gulf states like Saudi, Bahrain, Qatar etc

Saudi Arabia have allowed in an estimated 500,000 Syrian nationals since 2011 with the majority of that number being migrant workers. The country have no policy to house refugees without sponsors or a work permit.

One of the main reasons as to why countries like Saudi and other gulf states have been reluctant to let them in, is due to instability fears. These countries are concerned about possible infiltrators wanting to avenge support for anti-Assad rebels. Since 2012 Gulf states have feared Syrian who are Loyal towards Assad have wanted to infiltrate the gulf to exact revenge. However there has been no direct proof of a plot by supporters of Assad that has been brought to the publics attention.

I'm just gonna bring up the ISIS/Extremist ties again. The Gulf states don't want to be infiltrated by Syrian's who mean harm but can't we use the same excuse. I can almost guarantee that if the opportunity presented itself ISIS would commence or at least plan a attack on American/British soil. They sure as hell harbour more hate for us than your typical Syrian does for the Gulf states. Even a handful of people with ties to terrorism is unacceptable and with numbers coming in with it showing that at least 70% of the people fleeing their homeland are Males. Those aren't families. This is the best opportunity for them to infiltrate other countries. With them storming borders and essentially going full Ferguson, running amok they really aren't showing they deserve to be let in.
