Hey guys,
Looking to buy a car (used) and I am in love with the Subaru BRZ. However, I know that the Toyota 86 and Scion FRS look the exact same. What's the difference in these cars(Beside's the car manufacturers).
* Note: I'm not a car guru. Consider me a Car Noob.

They really are practically the same except for some slight differences in interior, head lights but nothing major. Front end is a bit different. People say the brz is a little more serious than the gt86, like the gt86 is a bit more tail happy. Just pick what ever one you think looks better because they might as well be the exact same for the average driver.
I personally would get the BRZ but just because everyone in australia seems the get the gt86. Something different ya know.

If you are not taking it to the track, and you want a daily with a great package then the BRZ offers the most. FRS/GT86 are a little more fun to drive however.
BRZ is the more stable of the three, FRS/GT86 are near enough identical.

They're are practically the exact same car tbh. Very little, if any, differences between the 3.

Really it all depends on where you live. The 86 is obviously the first choice of anyone where it is imported, but in the US I'd go with the FR-S. I'm in the states and I write this assuming you are too. During their first model year (2013 maybe?), I would suggest the BRZ because Subaru offered a "Limited" package of some sort that added a spiffy interior and rims (not much but still), while the FR-S didn't have any options. Now you can get a slew of TRD goodies with the [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] .
I think the front of the FR-S is far more aggressive than the BRZ, and the FR-S has a somewhat better drag coefficient over the BRZ. Happy shopping!

I've done a ton of research since making this post. I absolutely agree that the FR-s 1.0 comes with a crap tone more. Plus, Im considering buying Used. I drove a BRZ yesterday and fell in love. Ultimate goal is WRX STi, unfortunately I don't have that much money for a considerable down payment on a STi. But I defintely agree with your opinion. Maybe if some more funds come in ill take a look a Scion, maybe take it for a test drive. tt556)
