As for as I can tell the site is legit but after I bought FIFA 16 off the site and received the account I got an email from someone pretending to be staff there.

He basically said due to a mistake with my order (I did have a minor problem, don't know how he knew) they were willing to give me the FIFA 16 deluxe edition and in exchange I had to give the email and password.

The weird thing is he replied to an email I sent him (his email was linked in the email I received from the site). When I emailed him I was asking how I get the FIFA account, the mistake happened after I received the account so I have no idea how he knew.

Anyway can't get my head around it, seems a bit weird. I spoke on live chat to ask if this was legit and the person replied saying nobody with his name works for the site. I just can't figure out how his email address was linked in the email I received from the site.

Sorry if this is post is a bit long, just giving people a heads up if they have bought from the site or are planning to not to give the email and password you receive to anyone asking for it.

Looks like that person somehow knew that you have purchased the game (perhaps you have mentioned that somewhere?) and tried to take advantage of it by attempting to trick you into sharing his password with him by making up a story of a problem and promising a reward (free upgrade to deluxe).

Pretty basic phishing attempt, this could happen to anyone purchasing anywhere - thetechgame.org has nothing to do with it which you were informed on the chat about. Always check who the email sender is, if the email was real it would be coming from domain thetechgame.org.

Thinking about it I may know what's happened.

The problem I had was an actual staff member there sent me the wrong account details, when I signed in on my xbox, it was signing me out. I asked why and he confirmed he gave me the wrong account and someone else who had bought from there was trying to sign in on the same account.

He gave me a new account and everything was fine, I deleted the details etc of the first account and everything was fine.

What I think has happened is that instead of taking notes of the email address I was first sent, I've emailed it instead. The other person who was signing in on that account has gotten that account, known I've had problems and has tried to scam me. It's the only solution I can think of considering I hadn't received an email from that account until my problem was resolved.

Minus that screw up the site seems ok. The live chat guy was helpful, If I was you I wouldn't let this put you off buying there. If my theory is correct it's just a shame the other person who had the same problem as me tried to scam me.

Yes exactly what I'm thinking, didn't see this reply when I replied to the other person.

Just received this response from a member of staff

Hi, I also know how it happened now. You have actually sent an email to
the account which was meant for you but given to another buyer
accidentally. The other buyer had access to this email (with an account
you also get email access) so he saw your message and seeing you
confused tried to take advantage of it by tricking you into giving you
his account.

I'm very sorry for it, I will contact the other guy and have him explain
himself. This should not have happened but sadly we don't get to pick
our buyers and sometimes there could be a scammer among them too.

Minus the slight mess up, I would say the site is trustworthy for those not sure. I just didn't know what had happened to begin with and was letting others know.

How does it even work? Like can you only play the game on that account? Or are you able to play it on your main account?

You can play on any account I've been told, the account you buy doesn't need to be logged in either.
