Having troubles.. Its bothering me a lot. All my friends are 280+ and i cant even do the raid.. Any tips?

Court of Oryx is a very helpful place and also try doing Heoric Strikes and get to 290+ light and do the raid .

Heroic strikes are your best bet. They increased the crap out of engram drops. Do quests, strikes, nightfall, daily. Get legendary marks to get vanguard gear or who ever your vendor is.
