Synopsis:

Take a trip to fame and fortune by building the biggest, best, scariest, and most thrilling rides ever seen in any theme park. Can you make money in this volatile business? Can you become the ultimate Roller Coaster Tycoon? One of the best games from acclaimed Tycoon series, with well designed gameplay mechanics, appealing graphics, and really high re-playability value. Theres no limit to what you can create so design and build the most thrilling roller coaster the world has ever seen - and buckle up for the ride of your life!

Gameplay:

Welcome to Roller Coaster Tycoon Deluxe, the first game from the series this game allows the player to create and customize their very own amusement park and try to maintain the park while keeping all the guest happy. This game is a pretty good simulator of what it might be like to own your very own amusement park. This game allows you to choose between a few different scenarios that and once you have completed a few of these scenarios you will be able to try out one that was previously locked and they do get harder as you progress. This game can be actually pretty hard because some of the objectives in this game are challenging and do take a while to complete. This can get frustrating at times especially when you just want to play a relaxing game and you start up this game to a objective asking you to build ten different roller coasters with a excitement rating of 6 to successfully complete this one objective. This game does have a lot of different rides you can choose from to put in your park to entertain your guest which I personally do like, it adds a lot of customization to your park which really makes it feels like your own park. You do not have all the rides accessible to you right away you will need to research some of these rides in order to unlock them and use them. You use money to determine how much should be put into the research and how long it will take to research the ride. Overall the game is pretty decent but does get repetitive pretty fast. I do like all the option available in the game especially all the rides you can use in your park. The game play is fun for a while but I do not think this game would entertain any gamer I think this game is really meant for the people who enjoy a older game with a very basic game play. I honestly did not find the game play really that fun and was quite honestly disappointed by this game. But I think other would enjoy this game and what is has to offer.

Graphics:

The graphics for Roller Coaster Tycoon Deluxe are probably some of the worse graphics I have ever seen in a video game. The graphics are just really bad in my opinion the game does have a little detail to it in the rides but really it is hard to tell what a lot of things in this game really are. The guest do not even look like guest they look like these little colorful dots moving around your park and when there is a lot of them crowded together they do not even look like they are walking instead they look like they are floating through each other while moving. The rides all seem pretty detailed as in you can make out somethings on the rides that give you a idea what they really are and how they entertain your guest. the animations in this game are pretty basic and though I was impressed that this game actually had things moving in it they are just basic lights that will turn in a circle or the guest riding a ride for example a roller coaster you can see the guests riding it. Overall I was not impressed by these graphics at all and think they could be way better. Having played a lot of games from this era (1999) I can say these graphics are on the poor side and really need some work. The rides are really the only thing that looks quite good and is something you can actually make out.

Controls:

The controls for Roller Coaster Tycoon Deluxe are extremely basic and easy to remember. Mostly using the mouse to control the game play this game really has the most simplest control layout you will see in a video game. I think the controls are good and fit the game well. Even though I do not think they help make the player feel like that are interacting with the game I think it does get the job done and make this game playable. Overall The controls are just really basic and easy to retain once you have played a few times. There is a tutorial that you should check out if you have never played this game before. The tutorial is actually pretty useful and I found it kinda fun to play. The controls do not make the players really interact with the game but do get the job done.

This is an all time classic, spent unearthly amount of hours giving happiness to my theme park attendees. Brilliant review. Does anyone remember hospital tycoon? That was brilliant too
