Look at the Image menu > Mode. It probably says "Grayscale" or "Indexed Color".
Change the mode to RGB Color and you should have all the colors.

Pish told me to do that on page 2 i think, it was on RGB. i think it was just locked on luminocity or whatever it was like chi said
