So, title says it. This will be on the subject of people who cry racism when they don't get what they want.

So I work in retail, I have hundreds upon hundreds of stories about these I can say but there's 4 that's the most incredibly stupid I can think of and I have to say the whole race card is just beyond pathetic now about how much of a touchy subject it is.

1. So a while I was on shop floor, something happened with a member of staff on the tills, they called me to tills so I went there. A black woman upset because she didn't get her own way ( she was told she had to pay 5p for a bag and demanded that she didn't have to pay and wanted a free one ) and then ended up moaning. It actually got serious and we had to call the police down to make her leave the shop. And of course. She leaves and had the audacity to say that the girl she was being served by made a racial slur and that's what set her off.

We have other customers and staff members who were there to confirm that wasn't the case but the woman kept going on about it and ended up getting our staff member investigated by higher ups and almost lost her job over it. That to me is just beyond pathetic. People who act like that just to deny being in the wrong shouldn't be allowed out their house.

2. Around April/May, England gets loads of fairgrounds around the country. It happens all the time, nothing new. Around this point, we had one around our work place. We had kids about 9 - 15 coming in trying to steal our ecigs. The expensive 15 GBP ones.

So one day, a group of them came in. To be frank about it, a few white kids and some black kids. We have the ecigs on a top shelf so we can clear as day see kids reaching up for them. We had witnesses and CCTV to show they had grabbed some and left the store without paying.

So our guard and manager went out to confront them and basically say " We know you've robbed them. Give them back or we call the police. " Just the usual. But nah. The kids started screaming racism and saying they didn't steal and we're only stopping them because they're black. Eventually the police came down and it luckily got sorted quickly but now there's a rumor going round apparently our store watched black people on the cameras and stops them for no reason. That's awful 'press' to have about your store.

3. Really a dumb one but I wasn't in for this one, I heard about it and yes. We got investigated for it.

So I had a week off work for holiday. Got back and there was some gossip. Well. This one does it for me.

So a customer complained to our head office saying we're a racist store. Guess why? No reason? Nah. Because we don't have any 'colored' people employed. And yes. She used colored.

I have to say, in the 2 years I've been there. 'Colored' people as she said. Not a single one of them have ever handed a CV in. All we get are kids just coming out of school that want a job before college or something.

But because of this, as I mentioned. The store got investigated. Nothing came out of it but that to me is just the most pathetic thing of all to complain about.

4. Not much of a big issue, just still stupid.

So where I work, we have a lot of Polish people come in. No issue. They're friendly and will chat to you if you're on the tills. A few weeks back we had one coming in complaining about how we don't sell more of a Polish variety of goods.

I tried to explain that it's nothing to do with us, we just sell what we get sent. He eventually left saying we're not a good company/store and that he will never come in again.

To put it simple, I am honestly sick of EVERYTHING now turning into a ' race card' issue. I really think it's just going to get worse and worse and I'm honestly dreading going to work in fear that a customer won't be happy with something and call me out and I'll get fired for something they made up.

End of it all, I'm not a people person in general ( ironic for working in retail ) but things like this make me want to quit and just give up on humanity.

- But that. Just a rant to get off my chest. This is retail for you though. I can't wait to leave and just get away from it all after Christmas.
