I had a long conversation with an employee at GameStop a whiles back. He informed me that with the backwards compatibility, you aren't actually playing the games off of the discs. There is essentially going to be an Xbox 360 emulator on your xbox one console. What's going to happen is you are going to put your xbox 360 game into the console, the console will then read the disc to know what game it is, then you will download the game from the xbox marketplace. Then it is going to be just like the xbox one games... you put it in the console and it runs off of the download. That being said, doesn't that mean I should be able to put my flashed xbox 360 games in and let it run off of those? If all the console is doing is seeing what game it is and then it downloads from the xbox marketplace of sorts... I thought I'd be able to do that and not have to re-buy all the games I sold when i flashed my xbox and made all of my games that way. Anyone have knowledge on this or whether it will work or not and why??

What you are suggesting will not work unfortunately for you as the xbox one is not just seeing the disk thats inserted but also checking the security sectors that are on the original disk and also checking if the disk is pressed or written

Not to mention it does not even use the disc to install but uses the disk as a trigger device, the game is installed as a digital content from the xbl store, there version of the game plus the emulator packed together as on package
