I'm thinking about upgrading to Xbox one and still recording with my component hdpvr. Would it work if I got a hdmi to component converter?

HDPVR doesn't record with HDMI

Also its composite cable.

I don't know if they are the same thing. Channel on my to is component. And I didn't say it did record hdmi hence I was seeing if a converter would do the job.

I am just confused on the matter, when you get an xbox one it comes with an hdmi cable because thats the only way you can use it, there's no composite for it. You should be able to hook the hdmi into the tv and your capture card. If that makes sense or nah.

Yeah sorry I've explained the situation stupidly. Right, so I have the HDPVR 1 which only has composite cables. I want to buy an Xbox that only comes with hdmi but still want to record. I'm asking if it's possible to buy a converter that will have an hdmi input and composite output which goes into my PVR and Xbox one and will work.

Oh the yeah you can use a converter. If you have any issues gaming wise because of it id recommend just getting a new capture card.
