Hi my power cord does not reach my plug socket and have read not to put it into a power extension pack so I'm wondering how do I connect the power brick to the plug in wall

Move your xbox or use a good quality power strip/surge protector

I used an extensions cord to plug in my xbox when I was outside. It works but I would not recommend using an extension cord as a permanent solution. Get a surge protector and you will have no worries.

Just go to walmart or something and buy a cheap extension cord.
