I got this pc around a year and a half ago when i done a straight swap for an xbox one.

so i didnt build it myself, I have really only played csgo on it (1000+ hours)

Now i purchased black ops III and my graphics card doesn't even meet the minimum specs. I was going to upgrade at Christmas anyway but i decided i may as well upgrade my graphics card right now.

this is my pc [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

If someone could recommend a graphics card that i should get, and if possible what else i should upgrade, that would be helpful, thank you

Case is meh. Could upgrade that, but not necessary. HD7850 is pretty similar to 260x performance so the 7850 will play BO3, at decent settings at least. We can't suggest anything without a budget and currency. Depending on your budget, you could upgrade your CPU and mobo, but you're probably best waiting for AM4/Kaby Lake. I'd definitely be adding an SSD when possible, and a nice cooler.

A 260x/7850 will not play Black Ops 3 unless you put the settings to very low and the resolution to around 1600x900.

What is your budget and currency?

i3 and 260x is more than enough to play BO3 at 1080p. I remember a friend playing the BO3 beta at 1080p with his 260x, at around low-med settings. So, yes, a 260x will play BO3 at decent settings.

Slight difference between a beta and full game.. It's funny that you have no experience with it yourself, but me and many others on this site can tell you that a 970 only just manages to run it at 60fps with mostly high settings, and that is with a hyperthreaded i7, an i5 will be the bottleneck in games like this.

I do actually have experience with it, but it wasn't relevant to my point since I use a GTX 970 and 4790k, and had no issues running the game. A 260x will play BO3. I never said it would play it well, or at high settings, but it will play it.

debatable, the game does require a lot of GPU power and honestly, a 7850/260X just doesn't cut it any more, especially with newer games coming out. Take Fallout 4 for example, MINIMUM says a HD 7870 and recommended says 780/290X. The days of cheap and cheerful GPU's are coming to an end.
OP, we need a budget and a currency to work with.

A card like the 380 would be perfect for you. Its not too expesnive or powerfull and it will play B03 on medium settings 60fps easy.

It also means you dont have to do a PSU upgrade.

Ez lyfe guys

Black Ops III is a hard game to judge. It's far from well optimized at the current point in time. So I wouldn't even want to boot it up with anything less that a 770 at the hip.

I was trying to max the game on my 970, the input lag was soul destroying and the frame stutters were horribad.

So i can only imagine what it would be like on other cards that can't get a stable 65FPS.

Like XLiggy said, a 380 would be a great and viable option for a not to pricey upgrade.

Your CPU could also be a small bottleneck inside BO3, it absolutely loves to eat cores. My i7 sits at around 65% usage across 8 threads constant. And that's at 4k on Medium settings at 1080p texture quality.
