You'll know when it's right to date a new girl. If you don't yet know then now is not the time.

You will compare the new girl to your ex and she may just end up being a rebound, not nice for either.

The right time? Well we can't tell you that.. The right time is on you my friend, when you think its right, you go for it

I have been in that situation and all I can really say is.. Do what's best for you and what makes you happy. Don't dwell on the past, focus on the future.. Life has good and bad times. There has to be a balance. Me and my ex stayed in contact every month or so to see how one another where and that worked. (Still do)

Just let things work out naturally. By that I mean, do not force yourself to move on or find another girl.. just carry on doing you and I'm sure you'll either work it out or the right situation will find you.
