Hey,
I posted a forum a while ago requesting help on upgrading my PC and got some nice responses,however I did not post my PSU and my case info.
So my specs are:
CPU: Intel Core i3 3220 @ 3.30GHz Ivy Bridge 22nm Technology
RAM: RAM 8.00GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 665MHz (9-9-9-24)
Motherboard: Gigabyte Technology H61M-DS2 DVI
Graphics: 2048MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 (Palit Microsystems)
Storage: 465GB Western Digital WDC WD5000AAKX-00ERMA0 ATA Device
Optical Drive: ATAPI iHAS120 X ATA Device
Audio: Realtek High Definition Audio
PSU: Cooler Master 500W RS-500-PSAR-J3
Case:Cooler Master HAF 912 Plus RC-912P-KKN1
What could I upgrade to run games like Fallout 4 with good settings and 60fps? My budget is like 500-1000 GBP I want to make it the lowest but if necessary exceed it.

You could go with an entirely new build and salvage the HDD imo, if you want to save a bit you could drop the CPU cooler, get 2x 4GB of RAM instead if you don't want 16GB (which is nice tho) or get the 250GB 850 Evo instead of the 500GB but trust me my 250GB SSD is running out with only a few new games;

You could upgrade your current build by just getting a new PSU, GPU, preferably case and CPU, but the i7-3770 is £300 which is waaay too expensive. I would get a new build tbh, most things in the current build would need upgrading.

Went with the 970 because it's more efficient, but you could get a 390 for £250 instead, if you prefer. The GS550 is perfectly fine for a 390 rig. 3770k is cheaper than the 3770 and this means you don't need a new mobo, but your current mobo is pretty poor tbh. You could get an Ivy Bridge, or even Sandy Bridge i5 for a decent price instead, if you wish to save some money. No point upgrading from a 2 generation old socket, to a last gen CPU. Use the SSD for OS and your favourite games/programs, and use the HDD for mass storage. You could also add another HDD, can get a 2TB Barracuda fairly cheap. Could upgrade to 16GB RAM as well, if you so wish.

hmm,
what about a build for 1000 (pounds) without peripherals i have everything just need a tower then. Because everyone is saying my current one is garbage which I agree with but, I would really want the GTX 980, but is it possible to get it with a decent build for 1000? or do I save up more money, after a month I would have about 1500

980 isn't worth it. A 980 Ti would be quite a squeeze in a £1000 build, if you had a 980 Ti should be playing at 4k anyway, this is pretty much the lowest you can get without bottlenecking the GPU;

There is no need for a new case, RAM, or HDD, so you might as well re-use them anyway. Your current motherboard is fine, there's no reason not to grab an SB/IB Xeon or i7. Absolutely no reason to upgrade to Haswell, it's just a waste.

@Sanctorum if i get the parts you said will i be able to get another 970 in the future for sli? and why the zotac version not msi?

No, your current motherboard doesn't support SLI. You could add another 970 if you upgraded to a motherboard with SLI support, but in that case, it would just be worth upgrading to a new socket anyway IMO. The cooler doesn't really matter too much get whichever you prefer the most.

So would it be worth just getting the parts and upgrading them for now, and then when i have more money and get a new mobo plus another 970?
