I got a $25 gift card since the people at the stored messed up and gave me the wrong code and so I can I buy a membership with the money on my account?

If you're referring to Microsoft points then no I'm afraid not. But if it's a redeemable 25 dollar code you might be able to on the Xbox live website. Check it out.
