I have a choice between the two following laptops but I don't know what one to get for basic python coding, YouTube and extremely light video editing maybe.
++REP for help, Thanks!

LAPTOP 2:

It's just a budget LAPTOP for under £300, until I can build my PC. It is just for the time being and I want to know which one is the better one to get for said things.

Neither.. What is your budget and what exactly do you need? Could you build a PC or does it have to be a laptop?

If all you're going to be doing is light programming, you might as well just buy a chromebook or some other cheap thing.

Pointless wasting money on a laptop when you are going to be building a PC anyway.

It's doesn't matter at all. It's not like you are going to be running a live server on your PC so it's doesn't matter. Get the cheaper one to save money. I have a i3 core and the only time i had problems with "programming" is when my IDE was using too much resource.. but then I upgraded my IDE and never had that problem again. I do all sort programming.

Often for programming the highest intensity task would be compiling and then testing (especially if it's like a game you're developing). I plan on buying a new laptop soon for portable work and I'm gonna be aiming for 8GB RAM, OK-ish processor and extended battery life (which I will try to further by using a light linux distro as the primary OS - #Arch).

If you're doing python, get anything.. you can run python on Android phones, LOL. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

tl;dr - battery life is the main selling point for me.

I would go with the Hp laptop but it's really up to you also you need to think about keyboard because your going to be doing a lot of typing.

Either one is fine my dude. It's not going to make a difference, programming is just typing... you could read the reviews and found out which has a nicer keyboard but f*ck it. It really doesn't matter.

That being said, I'm not a huge fan of HP or Acer, but the HP is marginally better. It has a better battery, slightly faster CPU, more storage, and you'll save a few bucks.
