That guy said he wanted an r34 and you were all saying he was a dreamer no one is gonna get a gtr for a first car. It seems like you guys don't actually know your car models and just think every r34 is a gtr or super fast. They are not that expensive either, just look at this screen shot which shows the first 4 r34's for sale on carsales.com
If you looked harder you could find better deals. So guys shouldn't talk about how you shouldn't buy a car if you don't know enough about the car. No where did he say he wanted a gtr, just an r34. He also said it was cheaper than a gt86 so clearly he is talking about a lower model r34. I could probably trade my car for an r34 with cash my way if I wanted to.
non turbo skylines are pretty slow as well.

The guy didn't actually say where he was from, so all anyone could do was assume. For example here in the UK to source that car that is completely stock from any previous owner having done anything to it will be quite hard. Not to mention the insurance it comes with, I think someone in there said it was in a ridiculous insurance group (30) so.. me nono just different points of view.
Edit: A quick search of ebay (I know not best place to look..) I only saw 3 results, lowest being £27k
Although... [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] But the modifications done to the cars will also have a massive effect on the insurance.. If you are lucky enough to find someone to insure you

I believe the guy did say he was from Australia. One of my best friends moved to Australia and he told me that r34's are your basic everyday cars.

the reason why they're cheap is because they aren't GTR's, just regular r34 skylines, plus most of them in that screenshot are auto. Also in the US you'd be lucky to see any of the skyline series no matter what edition, hence why if he lived here they'd be quite expensive for a first car.

There are plenty of manual ones I just took the first 4 on the first page as an example. But yea you are right, if he were to live in USA or the UK he would be dreaming but in Australia it is completely reasonable to get an r34 as a first car. Again he didn't want a GTR just an r34. And he did mention he was in australia in his previous topic.
I just thought it was silly how everyone was saying he was dreaming and the topic got closed because even the mod didn't seem to realize you can get cheap skylines in countries other than his own.
However he should have specified his country and price range and then people wouldn't have jumped to conclusions. Wouldn't have hurt to mention he wasn't after a turbo skyline, which considering he will be on his provisional license (just a restricted license in Australia you have to hold for at least 3 years in Australia after getting your licence) he wouldn't legally be allowed to drive a turbo one.
