Hey, I haven't seen Dogmeat in a while and he went away on the mission with Kellog, I don't remember the game asking me to send Dogmeat anywhere so I don't know where he is. Valentine was with me on the mission and he's been my companion since then. I have checked all of my settlements and no sign on the dog, anyone know how I can find him??

You can try looking in the back yard of all the houses at sanctuary in the dog houses or at the red rocket gas station.

Go to the last place you had him and wait for 24hrs. I did that and it worked for me because once in a while he disappears and I was losing it due to the fact that's he's carrying alot of my stuff.

You need to check his default spawn, which I think is where you found him, that red gas station thing near Sanctuary.

Dogmeat isn't a great companion IMHO. I prefer Nick Valentine. He's great company and he's pretty deadly. He's also great for hacking, and I love his character.

Nick Valentine is also the guy I use for storing my items, and so far nothing's been lost.

I heard you can build some kind of bell at a settlement and all your companions there will come up to the bell when you ring it not sure about that tho lol

As said above you can install the bell to 'holla' all of your previous companions or if what has happened to you is similar to what happened to me e.g you were playing the story and had to use a different companion 99% he will return to the red rocket cafe which is by the sanctuary also you may trigger an easter egg that enables you to get the alien blaster.... he will be stood in the petrol forecourt.
