As stated above the only thing I could think of is to just do other quests and wait until you find a fat man and shoot it at the ground. Unless youre willing to start a new character or MAYBE wait until a patch. Totally dont blame you if youre not though lol I would be heated

I went back to Sanctuary and talked to the guy hoping he might come assist me or something and he threw another quest at me so I'm just gonna keep going on other things and hope that they fix it with a patch or the fat man will solve my issues.

But yeah man, I'm kinda salty about it and I'm not restarting after like 4-5 hours of gameplay.

I love Bethesda, but shit like this is really frustrating.

Just do some other quests the developers are aware of this happening and I've also had similar issue's on quest. After 5 attempts I finally got it but yeah I really hope next weeks patch is gonna cover this game breaking bug.

U could go back to sanctuary save. Close the application. Restart the Xbox and try it. Worked when I accidentally started work with Ironsides

I went back pretty far in my quests, like before I even got the one to clear out the drive-in and I get the same problem each time.

This should fix it for you. Ive had it happen to me many times. Dont know if it would work since the drive in itself is an exterior area. But as i was saying its happened to me many times clearing out areas with ghouls and the what not. If they are stuck in the wall or ground usually exiting the area sleeping traveling back and going back in will fix it but thats for interiors dont know if it would work for an interior. My other suggestion is to get codsworth to travel with you I had a similiar problem with mutants at the waterplant and he was able to cut his head of through the ground. Might work might not. Also another thing I noticed are quest breaking bugs. Any quests you have to turn in to a companion yes companion wont work. ETC the lost patrol quest I only started after making paladin damnse my companion now that he is whether hes following me or not I cant turn it in to him. Same with hancock and the silver shroud quest. I cant turn it in to him since I did the bobbi quest and made him my companion.

I had the idea of talking to him to see if he'd be able to get the glitched molerat, and no luck. I haven't tried sleeping in another area and coming back however, I'll try that next time I get on Fallout and I'll be sure to report back here if it worked or not, thanks for the tips.
