yeah you can but like the other guy said they are pretty difficult to take apart and require torx screwdrivers. i would recommend buying an unlock kit

It really is not hard at all iv done it many times you will need a tox 8 screw drive then look up how to take apart the xbox on youtube because not going to describe how to do it and the video will be better. you need a 8.4 GB dual layer dvd for the discs. The programs that you will need depending on what game your mod are ABGx360 wx360 and .FF viewer if you what the edit WaW mod menus. you also need a dual layer DVD burner to burn the discs. you can do xgd2 games im not sure about xgd3's i think you might need a xkey a flashed dvd drive or RGH for that i hope this helps you look on youtube for tuts for more help their are many.

The Xbox 360 is relatively easy to take apart. Pop the side vents off, unclip the bottom casing then unscrew the 6 white torx 10 screws. Dual Layer burner is required to burn the game, 8.5GB Dual Layer (Verbatim MKM003 OR MKM001 Verbatim Singapore disks) for the game, then programs ABGX360 And IMGBURN for latest games. But I would expect you're only burning back up games that you own as your original disks are scratched
