Looks great however im not too keen on the white things floating around behind him

The actual character looks really good. I would recommend adding depth to your image though. The space background looks really strictly 2d i would like to see it spiced up a bit, add some shadowing to make it look a bit "spacey" even cartoons should have some depth also i would make the panels look a grungy and roughed up a bit.
There should also be some focal point of light in the image darken the panels a tad.

A bit humorous, but not in a bad way.
I've never really critiqued a piece like this but,
I'll say that the character himself looks pretty descent.
But to me, the pieces of the broken ship, don't really compliment it's surroundings.
Along with the poster signs, that seem somewhat rushed and sort of thrown on there.
