I have played 77 hours(mostly casul) and have recently started playing competitive, i have won 9 games in competitive so far, but i have had 4-5 temporary cooldowns so that the "servers can calibrate my skill group". I don't see why i must have 5 21 hour long cooldowns especially as im unranked.

The following 3 users thanked Oozy for this useful post:

This is a perfectly good system to filter out hackers, most of them are impatient and won't bother with all of the cool downs on a new account. It's just something you have to suck up and deal with.

Ranking in CS:GO is hard, but the way that they have it setup is probably the most efficient way to deal with hackers and weed out people that shouldn't be in matchmaking.

I agree, i love the system they use, lowers the amount of hackers you see.

I guess if i look at it from that side of things, then it is a pretty good system, but it took me 5+ days just to get ranked, but if the temp ban wasn't there i would have been able to get ranked in a day or two.

Glad you are joining the CS community; a more mature FPS game. The ranking system is great since it filters out hackers to a good degree and if not then they are normally banned on quick time scale. The ranking system is great since its ever evolving. Since only a certain base of players can be in GE at one point in time you have to improve as the game improves. By this i mean if you play and get to GE and dont play for 1 year then you will probably drop by like 2/3 ranks.

Here is a good video to watch about the matter : [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
