Larph wrote Well, I myself am from the UK. I don't dislike America by any means, no no. but I absolutely hate Donald Trump and half the stuff he says even though it doesn't effect me in anyway.
Some stuff America does is amazing, but in all honesty... what UK person would ever support a country where drinking Irn Bru is illegal.
America your missing out on a gem here and no I can't describe the taste because... it's Irn Bru!
Sure America would probably be better of with taking guns away from people but surely more criminals die from being shot than innocent civilians. Even with the awful shootings that have gone on.
In short America, you can keep your guns and come here. I'l gladly share a case of Irn Bru with you all. Unless your Donald Trump.

The true Brit came out !
Im from the UK and follow politics on a reasonable scale. I feel that forcing an anti gun law on the US would cause more crime than if you kept it the same. You are taking aware something that comforts people, of course there is gonna be up roar. But i do agree there does need to be change!
I was brought up in a military family so i have many friends from across the US and EU. But the differences in the culture between EU/UK and US can cause divides and conflict in opinion.

Ever wrote We all know that no country is perfect. My country, US, damn sure isn't perfect. As majority of the world knows, the US has had quite a few shootings recently this year. I'm not gonna sit here and try to deny the fact that there isn't an issue going on. The thing that I am here to address is when there is an issue as in today's shooting(s) that happened, majority of the UK members on this site are quick to jump in and talk so much shit about the US and how many problems we have and throwing out all these false and outdated stats when in all honestly they really know nothing about the US and what they think they know they get from click bate new sources that are normally false or the story is so twisted it's ridiculous. They always try to throw in how perfect the UK is doing, granite, the UK doesn't have shootings like we have had recently, but they also don't have the same rights, we the people of the US, have. They also seem to don't realize even if the government seized everyone's weapons that 1. People wouldn't give them up, without more violence and more shootings. 2. Criminals are going to be criminals and get guns through different underground trades. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that I'm tired of the UK members on this site boasting about how their country is damn near perfect. Guess what? We are America not the fcking United Kingdom.
shit is getting out hand and is so damn immature.
Damn man. Ngl, our country (england) is about as worse as the us. Well, just below you. We have our own hood. The chavy twats who meet there mates at maccies stealing money from parents just to buy a pint of guiness at a corner shop, then start kicking shit off going around **** with peoples lifes and having a ''laugh'' when in reality they're just being huge arseholes. we have more underground cocaine trades and pseudoephedrine trades going on than you, prostitution is more hard to tackle and gangs are normally just ''roadmen'' with cheap shit, trackies and no weapons at all. then theres the underground cage fighting, the rabbit holes (the hole in the law) and the undisguised govermental habits such as feeding the war, destroying the rich by increased taxes, and not obliterating none-equal rights acts. However, every side has a complete opposite. Just every county has the chavs, the travellers, the posh, the rich and the middle class. I cannot speak for wales, ireland, scottland or any surrounding coutries though. But by far, britain is not perfect.

If I wanted to kill people I could buy a gun right now and do it. I have no record.

You could, but it would take you a few days and assuming that you have no record, then it is unlikely that you will do this.

No one is saying the UK is better than the US. Percentage wise, Glasgow was the worst place for stabbings, and still might be. The thing is, the reprobates here use knives and shit, because guns are much harder to get in the UK. Obviously, criminals will always have access to weapons, however, when you make guns harder to own, less gun related crime happens, obviously. I know several people here in the UK, who own pistols, rifles, and/or shotguns but it's very hard to get a license to own one, you have to go through a lot of hoops, and this stops idiots from getting guns. Guns have to be locked up and there's a lot of background research done first.
It just seems like another person getting butthurt because someone from the UK had a valid point about gun control, smh.

What is that point? JUST BAN GUNS? It is easier said than done.

He made his point.

There is a middle ground to be found here. He isn't saying that guns should be banned entirely, and neither are many pro-gunners saying that everybody should be able to get a gun without any checks or laws being in place.
I think that a lot of you pro-gun advocates like to misrepresent the views of your opponents because it's easier to argue against people who say that all guns should be banned in America. That is a simple argument to win, and many gun law advocates aren't saying that because they understand that it's an illogical and dubious position to hold.
It is harder to argue against someone who says that guns shouldn't be banned outright, but that more laws should be put in place to increase gun control.
Personally, I think that the key to lowering the gun death rate in the US is hidden within the legalization of recreational drugs and the end of the war on drugs.
Gang violence makes up the vast majority of gun deaths in the US, if you take away their main revenue stream there will be less gangs and, as a result, less gang violence.
When someone puts forward their position that more gun laws need to be in place, and you turn around and say 'Banning guns isn't do-able.' That is the equivalent of you saying 'The gun laws are fine as they are' and us turning around and saying 'It's not rational for every single person in the US to have guns, think of the children.'
It doesn't work, it's a strawman and it needs to stop, otherwise this conversation will go nowhere.
Edit: In case it impacts the credibility of my opinion, I'm from the UK.

I highly doubt guns will be illegal in the US, because of the 2nd amendment. There is no way to confiscate all weapons because there are just way to many of them. So even if they decied to ban all guns, there will still be alot of undergound buying/selling that just cant be stopped. Also I like having my rifles and shotguns for hunting, and my handgun for self protection.

The reason I am even making this rant was because it was fueled from the comments on that thread I linked, but something wrong can happen over here and UK people who don't know how our government works, doesn't know how anything over here works just throws out smart ass replies... granite valid points are valid points, I'm not gonna take away from that. I'm not butthurt someone is spitting facts to me, because it's not like I don't already know them, I'm getting annoyed by the ignorant UK people who aren't educated in our government and the way we do things and they just post ignorant things.

Being from another country doesn't make someone's point any less valid. Ignoring someone due to the fact that they're from another country, is in fact the "ignorant" thing to do. Just because someone is from the UK, doesn't mean they "don't know how anything in the US works", and again, claiming that's the case, is ignorant.
"I'm getting annoyed by little ignorant UK people"
That's just unnecessary hate for people from another country, which is clearly what fuels your half baked arguments.
