For XFire, you will need a bigger PSU bc 2 390s will pull over 850w under load.

X99 isnt really viable at this point anyways. Unless he is doing heavy editing or playing GTA 5 with loads of mods. Its an enthusiast grade chip.

He also already bought speakers etc WITHIN his budget. You went over by about $1-$200.

If you can, I would send back the case and get this instead, the pricing may be a bit off as you already have some parts, you could drop the HDD or get a cheaper cooler like a Dark Rock Pro 3 if you needed to save a bit of money;

No, they won't. 850W is fine for 2 x 390's in XFire, definitely not 3 though.

OP- Case is fine, but return those god awful speakers plz.

SLI support, so you can add a 2nd 970 whenever if you wish. You can overclock. Nice lil air cooler. Get your OS from G2A, or Reddit, if you must pay for it. No need for a sound card. Use a wired connection, get powerline adapters if you need, better than wi-fi. 1440p monitor, instead of 1080p. $1500 budget deserves 1440p tbh.
