Try downloading the update through [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] and then restore with iTunes

Option 1: Hold down power and home button the same time until it turns black then let go of the power button and continue to hold down the home button. Hold until your lock screen appears. You may have to hold up to 5 minutes. If this does not work go to number 2.

Option 2: Hold down power and home button the same time until it turns black then let go of both of the buttons and then hold down the volume up button and wait until your lock screen appears. You may have to hold the volume up button for up to 10 minutes.

If neither of these two help, then you may have to restore via Itunes.

Before you restore your device make sure that you have the latest version of iTunes.

Step 1. Use iTunes to backup your device.
Step 2. Transfer and sync any additional content to your computer.
Step 3. If you're using iOS 6 or later, go to Settings > iCloud and turn off Find My iPhone.

To Restore your device:

Step 1. Connect your device to your computer using the cable that came with it.
Step 2. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod when it appears in iTunes.
Step 3. In the Summary panel, click Restore.
Step 4. Click Restore again to confirm that you want to restore your device to factory settings and delete all data and content. iTunes will download the device software file and restore your device.
Step 5. After your device is restored to factory settings, it will restart. When it does, youll see the "Slide to set up welcome screen. Follow the steps in the setup assistant. You can set up your device as new or use a previous backup. If you restored an iOS device that has cellular service, it will activate after you finish setting up your device.

I dont believe you read the post... he cannot access his phone as it is in a bootloop and iTunes is giving him an error while restoring.

Hmmm.. maybe do you have some reading classes I can purchase? I thought I read the post before researching how to fix it, but maybe I didn't. Your post was very helpful to him though I'm sure of it. Happy posting! Good luck on getting your post count by flaming!

When you try to restore is there an error message popping up if so what's the message? Also try a shift restore.

Have you tired putting your phone into DFU mode and restoring, as well have you tried restoration mode, and then restoring? Also, did you try and update OTA while the phone was jailbroken, because that has been known to cause problems.
