The point of Rep/Thanks is if you were actually helpful to the community. It's supposed to be an actual goal you should earn over your times on the forum. Now it makes no sense to have it as it does not mean anything anymore. As of now you can see people trying to get the badge with a few Gold giveaways/other type of giveaways. It doesn't show anyone what you have really put into the site except for a few bucks.

I also have an opinion about Gold gifting but it's not as "serious" you could say. Gold should be gifted to users who ACTUALLY deserve it. It made sense to me before because people would become more active replying/posting attempting to achieve gold. I myself would love to participate in gifting, but now if I gift someone it's like "Oh I got gold again, thanks." Before you could actually see the excitement in a user.

I personally don't care if people ask for it, but at the same time I don't see why people are so obsessed with it.

I also hate when people say "its just a number" like no shit really? Wow I was not aware sir, thank you for the imformation

It is just a number but just like anything else its a goal, meeting goals is nice weather it be gamerscore, rep, thanks, likes on a pic WHATEVER.

Ive never asked for rep or thanks and if I did I was probably like 15 lmao. I hope they make asking for rep and thanks against the rules again. Although soooome members have already achieved what they did by asking so it wouldnt really change much at this point.

I agree to a point, If someones doing something good for the community then states "Rep and Thanks is appreciated" who cares? They are giving to the community.

Yeah I kinda hate the 'post here for gold' giveaways but then I think, anybody can have gold if they buy it, so it makes no difference in them bein gifted. Sean ain't complaining lmao.

I honestly think, if someone is giving something away, they deserve to be thanked, and shouldn`t even need to ask for it. but yeh, it can get acky when random posts they ask for it.

Well over the years a lot of things have changed on here in my opinion.
I used to feel like it was only the content creators on the site, such as artists and modders who got all the thanks, but now it can be anyone..

Not sure if it's good or bad, but it's still good to see people enjoying themselves

tbh getting gifted really isn't all that special I don't see why some users build a temple for you when you gift them sometimes and then others are just ungrateful but its whatever I gifted people just to throw a few $$ towards the site and help out some people.
