Respirator wrote Depends, do you wear matching tracksuits? Do you have like a gold necklace and ear rings? Things like these define a chav
looool no it dont, some tracksuits are more expensive than clothes you prolly wear. EVERYONE on here is tryna say yeah that a chav is someone who goes round in trackies and shit, NO. a chav stands for council house and violence. not many people decide to be a 'chav' thats what they're labelled from every mans perspective

No. It really does.

The Oxford English Dictionary defines "chav" as an informal British derogatory, meaning "a young lower-class person who displays brash and loutish behaviour and wears real or imitation designer clothes"

Please use a dictionary next time.

And if it did stand for what you said it did, it would be "C.H.A.V."

I'm not sure if you're joking or not. Then again you can barely type english, so it's hard to tell. The people who write the dictionaries are educated. They know what the word means. It does not stand for some bullsh^t that you and your mates made up

Someone even said that it stood for "Council House And Vandalism", which to be honest, makes a lot more sense than yours. How can a skinny kid in tracksuits be violent?

"Chavs are anti-social people. They cause trouble etc. People think that it stands for Council House & Violent but it doesn't. Not all Chavs are from council estates." - Some random guy on the internet.

Personally, if I saw someone who went shopping out into town with friends and was wearing a tracksuit. I would call them a 'Chav'.

Probably shouldn't but a small minority of my school are chavs and I absolutely despise them, the way they act, what they do, everything.

I don't like wearing tracksuit bottoms as I don't think they are smart and casual in any way but it depends all on where you grow up and what type of friends and family you have.

EDIT: Long description short, a person who dresses dirty and their attitude to everything is ungrateful and disrespectful

They look like windbreakers.

I only see runners wear that here in the USA.

I feel like if someone wore those to high school in the USA it wouldn't be "cool".

Pretty much a wanna be English Gangster

You're not a chav mate unless theres a knife in that pocket or you want to be on, you're allowed to wear some trackies.

Damn this is pretty much how I would have explained it

Kyle, I'm just like you, I wear trackies made out of the same material, all the time. They're so comfy. Why would I care about what other people think, about how I look? If I went, say to the cinema like you said, looking like how I do in my picture, which I would, what's the problem? I hate wearing jeans and chinos, so see no point to change. I'm the one on the right:
