So I just recently got a Snowball mic this past week and I can already tell a major difference from headset to this mic I'm using now! It sounds great but I've had multiple people tell me it sounds like a headset mic still. I had tinkered with it and I still sound about the same. I sit about 6 inches away I speak loudly but not shouting! Any advice I know the device isn't broken but something isn't quite right! Check out this video and give me some type of answer. I think anything would be a start for help! [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

To be honest I don't think it sounds like a headset. Sounds very good to me.

Snowball is a great quality microphone for the price and it's good for starting out.
Also using the program audacity if you don't already can make it sound even better

I think you have the ice and not the one with the three settings on the back, I switched my ice for the other one.
