In harder to handle games that use my gpu to its full extent if I window into a game or itll show a black screen for a good 10 seconds or more and then go to the game. Almost always when I window out of a game itll take up to 2 minutes to get back to the desktop, and sometimes it will crash. Ill hit ctrl alt delete, and the computer stops lagging after it finally gets to where I can see the ctrl alt delete menu. Once I hit task manager it starts to lag again, and then it'll take time for the task manager to show so I can finally close the game after trying multiple times to close it. The r9 390 says I need a 750 PSU, but I only have a 650 is this the problem, or do I not have enough ram or something?

FIXED Im an idiot. I updated all my drivers and it works perfectly now.

i7 4790k 4.0ghz
8gb ram

Does it happen to every game?

Do you have the correct drivers installed?

Is there anything running in the background to make it slow?

A decent 650w PSU will be able to cope with that load.

I'm downloading the new most current drivers. It's most definitely the PSU I've had shut downs, and my entire computer lags when getting out of games, and the black screen issue. Hopefully I didn't damage too much. I ordered an EVGA 850 g2 just to make sure it has enough power.

What PSU do you have?

I'd follow your hunch because it makes sense.

Its not a lack of wattage. I run pretty much that rig on a 600w PSU and its all good

EVGA SUPER NOVA 650 gs. My friend has the same rig as me, and doesn't have these problems as bad as me, but he's also upgrading psu's since I told him about it.

I honestly thought I got the 650 g2, but I just realized I got the gs. G2 is better than g1, but what about gs and gq? Which is the best?

Its a solid PSU. Question, do you have the power cable for the graphics card come from one cable? [Daisy chained] or do you have 2 separate cables for the power?

I looked at it through the side window. It looks like the 2nd picture.
