You should probably take some time to read the thread. This isn't about liking a specific Console or anything it's the fact people compare, what I believe to completely different things.

A lot of the time the comparison is brought on by someone on either side. It starts with a snide comment about how one is better. I do think it is fair to compare them with today's consoles. You can't make a statement that consoles are for causal gamers and for lazy couch sessions. That isn't a correct statement.

PC and Consoles have many different types of people that play them. You can have lazy and causal sessions on PC too. Are the consoles different? Yes. Do they complete the same task in terms of gaming? Yes. You can't say "Oh, a PC is better because you can do more on it." No shit. Consoles are made with gaming in mind. They tend to have more convenient features than PC does in terms of gaming, like built in game DVR.

They both have their differences. You can prove that without even getting into graphics. I have a Xbox One and a home-built gaming PC. I play more of my online games on Xbox because I have more friends on that system. I do all of my casual gaming on my PC. It is all dependent on your experience you have on the system. I find it more convenient to use console 80% of the time for gaming, because I can relax while I do it and play with friends. Sure, you can do more multi tasking while on a PC, but the argument comes down to gaming when you compare the two. Both create the same experience, one looks better/runs smoother while doing it, but that doesn't make it the best. The experience is what makes one better than the other.

I guess it's like this, Xbox Ones are what $299.99 or £250 (could be lower) and a PS4 around the same so when you take that into count, they're actually very good value for your money. A PC if you're wanting to create one that meets your demands especially if you're a gamer and want to play the games to the best they possibly can you're paying double, maybe triple. While saying this as mentioned you're getting your money's worth highly because you can do pretty much anything. Do I think they can be compared? Hell no. But end of the day there still will be morons that if they're console players and hear a PC gamer talk about his PC then they'll start an argument calling them shite and calling him a nerd or whatever, while on the other side from experience myself (when Xbox One dropped) I had a PC player get so aggregated about us calling Xbox One and PS4 'next gen' at the time because that's what they were next generation consoles and he'd say well they're not next gen because they're 3 year old specs but that's not the point it still was a next generation console as it was better than last gen. It all comes down to morons that want to argue all their life.

I say screw it, they're all good. Who doesn't like gaming and browsing the Internet? Their you go. Nobody so both are quality. Enjoy them

The point of the thread is comparing a console to a PC. Nobody can say a PC is 'better' because that is all personal preference. However, PC's are certainly more powerful and optimized. You can do anything with a PC, whereas a Console can't therefore they should not be compared. A PC is not a Console.

Some people just cant get it into their heads that some people prefer PC and some people prefer console , i have a decent PC, Xbox 360 and an Xbox one and i have more fun on some Xbox 360 games still then i do the PC or Xbox one.

Personally, I don't think they should be compared.. Because a computer isn't anywhere near as restricted as consoles.

+ A computer isn't a console so.. they shouldn't be compared for that reason.

All jokes aside, no I do not think its fair to compare a PC to any console. Just because they both play video games, does not mean they are similar just like you cant compare skyrim to gta just because they are open world games. They are two totally different things.

We are not talking about which is better, we are talking about comparing two things that are completely different. People compare them just because they both can play games.

I said a PC is more powerful and optimized than a console, neither a better because that is obviously personal preference.

I don't think so due to the fact that PS4's and Xbox One's cost around £250 but gaming PC's cost much more meaning that they can contain better specs

it's like comparing an apple to a banana, they are similar as in they are a fruit but are also completely different in their own ways.

This is how I view it.

No PC = No console.

PC is needed for the production of consoles.
