Any facts to back that up, or just a Ford hater?

002 wroteWell the Explorer did have a massive recall around 2001 for its OEM factory tires. I guess there was some type of blow out problem.Hush_My_Student_ wrote dont like these trucks they are bad

Ford doesn't produce tires, that's simply an issue with Firestone's manufacturing (they used Firestone tires in the lower 2k's and before then). After those issues they switched to mainly Good year Wrangler tires on their trucks and SUV's.
All vehicles have recalls and a lot of them, nothing to be scared about. My (at the time) 17 year old F-150 just got a recall for something to do with the cruise control wiring catching on fire.
Overall rating of the 2003 Explorer from Carguru's is 5 / 5, from Edmunds is 4.2 / 5, and from KBB is 7.5 / 10.
