So a slim console I had recently got the Open Tray Error. I bought a new lase and have replaced it but it's still not fixed. I don't believe the error is with the laser itself as the disc only spins for around 1 second before saying open error.
Any suggestions?
Edit:
Thanks to everyone who replied and in particular Rodent. Finally managed to get it working. Ended up being a silly mistake on my end as to where I had forgotten to place the little white plastic thing on to let the laser slide up and down.
Thanks again everyone.

I've had a similar problem when I tried to replace the laser before. To be honest I sent it off to 5kmods and it cost me about $75 to have it fixed. I believe if I recall my dvdkey needed to be recovered which added on more of a cost. Hit up rodent or one of the sellers cause no joke I tired almost everything at that point.

Thanks for the reply. This console was bought brand new originally and was never modified which is why I'm so confused. Thanks again!

You need to remove the anti static point so that the new laser can read discs.

I have removed the anti-static solder point. Now the disc has been spinning for around 2 minutes saying 'Reading'. Should I just leave it?

Should I just leave it?make sure the anti static point is completely clean and make sure you clean out the disk drive make sure no hair or dirt is around the worm gear and make sure there is no hair or lint or dirt up and down the slides to make sure its free and moving freely
