My favorite thing to do on Christmas is look at viral twitter posts by spoiled kids who are acting obnoxious.

"My mom go my an iPhone 6s, not the 6s plus, why does she hate me!!!"

Shit like that is too funny, kids like that aren't gonna survive in the real world with that sort of attitude and I'm cool with that.

What is wrong with someone showing off what they have wanted all year, I Get where you are coming from but it's only natural for people to show what they received.

I wouldn't really say it's "natural".

Do you think before social networking that kids would run out in the streets and start showing everyone their new shit? No.

It absolutely pisses me off when Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram etc are riddled with pictures of presents and shit that I don't care about. Or those stupid ass girls posting shit like "the boy did good" because their boyfriend wasted a shit ton of money on something shiny for them.

Tbh, they probably did show their friends there new shit.

I don`t see how people get so mad? I know one thing, when I get my new laptop for Christmas, I will be posting a picture of it on twitter, or wait...
Do I have to get approval of my 86k followers? Do I have to care if one or two might get jealous of it? nope. cause it is mine, I have earnt it.

Is it just poor kids that get jealous of others presents or something?

We live in a different age from the years where social networking didn't exist, Nowadays everything is shown on Social Media sites including Birthday's and Christmas, I Think it's natural in this day and age to do things like this,

In the years before Social Networking existed the technology and gifts that we receive now didn't exist or were not as advanced, money wasn't at the same value as it is now and people would struggle to get gifts, kids back in the day would be happy to receive any form of gift and would tell others what they got,

I Think if you have Facebook etc now you have the right to show it off on the site, I Would say if it annoys you then don't go on the site on that specific day and that way you stay away from it.

Did I say they didn't show any one any of their gifts? No, I didn't. The first thing kids do on Christmas now, is let everyone else know how spoiled they were. Yeah, because that's what Christmas is about right? lmfao. I have never posted on social media about the shit I get for my birthday, or at Christmas. It's irrelevant. No one cares, so why should I waste my time posting about it, instead of actually using whatever I got as a gift?

"here, instead of me using my new iPhone, I'll do a fkn photo shoot"
Yeah, because that's logical, right. No one said anything about jealousy, and assuming people are jealous of you getting a laptop is pretty pathetic.

I donno, do you get jealous of what other people get?

It's not going to stop, but it's definitely not "natural". I honestly couldn't care less if people want to post about what they got, but when they're being assholes about it, is when I have problem with it. I usually don't get along with people who do shit like that anyway so I'll just delete/block them if I see stupid shit.

You have "the right to show it off"? How so? Technically, you have the right to do whatever the hell you want on social media. This whole statement doesn't really make sense? I definitely wouldn't say that signing up for a website by typing out your e-mail, and a password means that you have "the right", but obviously people can do what they want on their own accounts. Just because I said it pisses me off, doesn't mean they can't do it. Smh.

Well everyone has the right to show off whatever they want e.g.christmas/birthday gifts, I Would want to put on social media what I received, it allows me and my friends to see what each of us got as we don't see each other over the holiday period.

I Don't see a problem with showing off what you got on sites as you said you can do what you want on these sites. If someone doesn't like me showing it there is an option to hide content so that it doesn't show on their news feed/timeline/ story.

Unfortunately this is the world that we live in now and people will always show off whether people like or not and there's no way to stop it from happening. Like you said if they are being ****'s about it then yes it's annoying but there is a difference between showing off and bragging and from what I can see you are talking about the latter.

Someone's feeling defensive.

Do you understand the English language at all? People use phrases like, 'They have the right' to mean, 'They can do what they want', but you ignore that just to say a bunch of stuff which basically leads to you agreeing with him.

And when GTT said, 'Tbh, they probably did show their friends there new shit.' he was obviously referring to where you said, 'Do you think before social networking that kids would run out in the streets and start showing everyone their new shit? No.'
But just because he didn't say, 'Tbh, they probably did show their friends their new shit right after they got it.' you took that as an opportunity to jump in and do the whole, 'You didn't specify exactly when they were going to show the presents to their friends so I DIDN'T SAY THAT THEY WERE NEVER GOING TO'

Of course kids would go out into the streets to show their friends their new toys on Christmas day. How do I know this? I grew up before the social media explosion and that's exactly what we did. You were wrong, accept it or find a better analogy.

It is natural in this day and age for people to want to show off what they got. What isn't natural is the fact that people will get jealous because of it [and i'm not saying you are in case you decide to go on the defensive about that too...] Nature isn't to blame for the jealousy around Christmas. Capitalism, the media, and advertising are.

I honestly couldn't care less if people want to post about what they got, but when they're being assholes about it, is when I have problem with it.

Congratulations, you did the nuance!

The reason why you got so many replies disagreeing with you and downvotes is because you're not saying the same thing that OP is and you didn't make that clear in your earlier posts.
You think that people really disagree with you when you say that people bragging is annoying? Seriously?
