I had to put my old pc back together because my parents pc got fried in a storm. I had mine working and all but the wifi wasn't working, I tried installing the driver and it said it was in deep sleep mode. I looked on toms hardware and people said to remove ram and put it back in. So I did...now my pc won't turn on. I'm pretty sure I didn't send a static charge through something because I touched metal before each procedure.
My Main problem is, when I turn on my pc it runs for about 1 second then shuts off. I have tried tons of things and I listed them all below. I took a picture of my cmos battery, if that helps or maybe I need a new one. Do you guys need to see a specific picture?
Things I Have Tried:
Things I Have Tried:
Taking out video card (Leaving ram in)
Taking ram out (Leaving video card in)
Taking out video card and ram
Trying a different hard drive
Switching ram, replacing one with the other (2 slots)
Trying one ram at a time
Tried a different power supply (I'm not sure if its dead or not)
Un-plugging power cable and holding power button for 1 min

Remove the components from the case and build it on a wooden table. If its a processor with built in graphics then forget the GPU for now and just fit the processor, RAM and storage drives to the motherboard.

Okay, that way I can tell which is dead. Could it be that my cmos battery is dead or dyeing? I probably killed something because it was working perfectly fine until I removed the ram lol

I heard it could be booting into the storage devices but not booting correctly so it shuts off (that's just something I read off the internet just now) if you have an os already installed on the hdd of course

if possible see if it'll turn on with a fresh hard drive. no os, if so that is the issue. Also, you do have stand off on the mobo/case right? I built my first computer without it and short circuited the mobo and that was the case. Or maybe the screws to the stand off/case are too tight. That could also be a possibility.
EDIT: I'm new to building, but looked up tons of info when this happened to me.

Im not sure what you mean by stand off. My case side panel is off thats all. I didn't change anything except for taking out the ram and putting it back in. the pc was working normal until I took out the ram and put it back in (the right way).

This literally just happened to me recently, when I built my new PC. My fans turned on for about 1-2 seconds then turned off. I did try everything you tried and it didn't work. And to fix this all I did was take out all the parts, and made sure my motherboard standoffs for my computer cased were all properly placed in the right holes for the motherboard and made sure there were no extra laying around. Then I took everything out, and then replaced everything inside. Then it booted up fine and was all good. Make sure you have the CPU cooler fan on the CPU. <--- VERY IMPORTANT.
