So... Im getting my car next month and im 16... I already have my permit and im getting my license soon. But before I do that I am getting a car that I can practice on and drive once I get my license. I need help choosing BETWEEN 3 cars. Take in mind I want a car thats safe, not really fast but fast enough, and is good quality and has decent mpg.

So heres my 3 car choices so far! (btw I need these cars in automatic, dont ask why)

Scion FRS - 2015 (Automatic, yes they make them automatic) $27k

Subaru BRZ - 2015 (Automatic, yes they make them automatic) $27.4k

Subaru WRX Limited - 2015 (Automatic, yes they make them automatic) $31k

If you have any suggestions PLEASE leave them below... Anything below the WRX price thats like a car that I will probably not get considering its kinda fast and more expensive than the other two. Anything below $28k I will consider highly. Please dont post "omg its your first car you are dumb for spending so much you are gonna crash it" I understand and appreciate it but im just asking for suggestions and opinions on these 3 cars. Thank you!

What country do you live in?

I personally wouldn't be one to spend 30k on a FIRST car. You are just learning how to drive, so mistakes will be made. Do you want the 30k car totaled, or the 10k car totaled? You can pick up a nice safe car for 10k or so where I live.

Any more 99.999999999% of cars are "safe". They all have air bags, crumple zones, reinforcements, etc. What you should be more concerned about is can you afford insurance / repairs / maintenance? Spend your time and look around. Just a quick 30 second search on Craigslist and I turned up this:

Not my money, not my issue, but I'd advise you to search around. Yes I did read your post where you essentially didn't want me to make this post but be smart now instead of regretting it later.

If you are hard headed about these cars, from strictly a future planning stand point I'd say the WRX. It's not a 2 door so insurance won't be as much. It will still be high as hell because of what the car is, but coupes are more expensive than sedans.

You're not getting any lol. Your insurance will be too high unles your parents like to spoil you.

Get an old beater so you can get the hand of it, then MAYBE, just maybe you'll eventually get a nicer car.

If you want a fast car, wait until you can afford one yourself, or you can afford your own insurance.

damn you lucky, ill be lucky if my first car is over 5k and i wouldnt want it to be anyway like 002 said, most likely something is going to wrong as you are a new driver id recommend something cheaper so you dont have to worry about it if something does happen and wait until your more experienced behind the wheel and then buy one of those nice cars.

out of all those id go the 86 or the wrx

I understand the insurance would be high. As I said in the post that its not really an issue me and my dad talked about this whole thing. They are reasons why I am getting a new car I guess I can put it that way? Im not going to get into detail. My dad is fine with me getting a new car etc.

Our first initial thing to do was to get a car under $15k used. I didn't beg for a new car my dad was the one who told me that we were getting a new one and thats that.

And I live in NA @002

You can get a new car for 12k. Sounds to me more like you want to look cool, but that's none of my business. You'll find out that as soon as people find out daddy bought your car, they will bash it.

Scion FRS or Scooby BRZ. Sporty cars.

People really need to stop hauling abuse at the dude for getting a new car. I know if my dad had the money to get me a new car, i would not say no...

FRS and the BRZ are the same car other than a few minor body changes. Im 18 now when i got my SRT-4 with a CLEAN driving record it was 225$ / month which comes out after tax to around 3000$/YR. Theres no way in hell a 16 year old can afford the insurance because you need full coverage. Unless your parents are paying for it all id suggest a used Toyota Echo
