So I got me an Xbox One for christmas. Installed a bunch of games all day. Got me Turtle Beaches XO FOURs. yada yada. Plugged in the adapter, updated it and everything and it worked for a good 10 minutes but now the adapter stays on mute (orange line).... no sound comes through it and im getting extremely pissed.
It is the adapter because I can unplug the adapter and plug the headset into just the controller and it works fine. When I plug in the adapter the orange line comes on and nothing works...
Really starting to feel like I wasted money.
UPDATE
Yes, I clicked the mute button. It just stays muted.. wont unmute.
Just tried hard restarting my xbox, didn't do anything

You have to update your controller while the adapter is plugged in

Buy a new adapter from somewhere then put your broken one in the box and return it and get your money back.
