It's compatible, but it's a poor rig. Why the i7? What will the system be used for? What's your max budget?

I think your fan might be a little weak. Other than that it's abit poor, yet I don't understand why people pay £300+ for a gpu when really a £215 model would do fine. I'd suggest changing the fan and the OS.

Included a 1440p monitor because you should really be looking at 1440p with a Fury. XFire support so you can add a 2nd Fury at any point. Fury>980.

Get your OS for free, or from [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] .

You can OC the BCLK on the 6600 if you want. Included a couple of case fans, I'd be using two in the front as intake and one in the rear as exhaust.

Seriously, what's with the #downvotesquad in the PC forums these days? If y'all think you're so smart, let's see your shit lmfao.

On topic- OP, no you couldn't because the 980 is shit and not worth the premium over a 970. Downgrade to a 390 if you want. You'll still have XFire support and 1080p would be more reasonable with a 390 so you wouldn't need to buy a 1440p panel.
