So my roommate wants to build a semi decent gaming PC. Right now he just plays WOW but he wants to get into some other games too. What would you recommend for around $600-$700? I built my PC about a year ago so i'm a bit out of the loop with the current PC scene.

Does he need a monitor, KB, or mouse?
Main use of PC?
Will he overclock?

He will probably just need to get one monitor.
Main use would be gaming. not hardcore though, just enough to run comfortable at medium settings on most games would be fine.
As for overclocking that wont be needed.

I'd spend my money on this its last generation Intel, however what you lose in per core speed, you gain much more back from two extra physical cores. Also i'd suggest getting an SSD when the system is built as its far easier to add a mechanical drive later.
