]Okay so there is some usernames that I want but I cant because someone already has it, but the person who has it hasn't even been on for years.

Also I heard that staff can get names that they want.

(but may not be true so don't get mad at me for saying that if it isn't)

I just think that they should reset most of them like Xbox does every once in awhile.

Well if you want an inactive/banned name, then this here is the only way.
https://www.thetechgame.com/Forums/t=7080018/gold-gifter-perks.html

The account must not of signed in for 2 or more years.
The account will be given notice of username reuse allowing time for them to respond/signin.
Gold Gifter +'s once given requested username cannot ask for another inactive username for 6 months.
Gold Gifter+s can take the usernames of banned accounts but not deactivated accounts.

At the end of the day, it's just a name. If it's been taken then you was clearly too slow to take it.

As Andy pointed out, you can still get the names, you just have to pay up.

I already made a post about this in site feedback forum, they are not going to make the change because there is still a chance the person can log into the account in the future I know it sucks but there is nothing we can do

Back in the day people would silver account and never get on them again, so Microsoft started resetting them. That is why you see some great OG's around now. You can look up stuff about it.

Xbox only ever resetted gamertags if they were inappropriate or they had words in them Like Jtag or 1337 but not for being inactive they physically can't access the account unless you've violated the code of conduct otherwise it's illegal for them to go into your personal profile and change things

Microsoft can access your account, if you don't believe me just look up how they used to reset gamertags. If I am not mistaken your are thinking about how you get a name change if you have something bad in your name according to Microsoft.

Then why is it that they need your approval to go into your account, they can't even see your email address they need you to give it to them along with a code sent to your email so they can unlock the options for your account
