Hey guys finally time to upgrade my PC but I'm not sure which gpu to pick from I wanna spend like 300 GBP on the gpu and I've found these two

R9 390 - [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
GTX 970 - [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Current build

I'd say the 390 is overall stronger but I wouldn't want it running on that powersupply.

Whichever you prefer. The motherboard would be the deciding factor for me, personally. If your motherboard has XFire support, but not SLI support, I'd go with the 390. If your motherboard has SLI support, it will also have XFire support, so if you have SLI support or no multi-GPU support, then choose whichever you want, it doesn't really matter, either will perform well. Your PSU isn't sufficient for 2-way SLI 970s, or 2-way XFire 390s FYI, but a PSU upgrade could give you multi-GPU support.

Thanks for the help, I have a [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] . So lets say in 1/2 years time I feel like i need more GPU power would it be better to SLI two of these instead of buying a single new one then? Haven't really looked into sli too much :/

You can't SLI or Crossfire on your motherboard. In 1-2 years it may definitely just be worth getting a single better GPU of the next Nvidia/AMD generation, so for now it doesn't really matter which card you get but I wouldn't want to run a 390 on that PSU.

Aww damn ok I'll just have to upgrade the motherboard and cpu when i need to then :/ Would it be ok to run the 390 on it just for a short amount of time like a month or two?

I honestly wouldn't, if you push the PSU even a tiny bit too far it could blow and take your whole system with it. Not a risk I'd want to take. You could run a 970 on it, as it is a more efficient card, but I would definitely upgrade the PSU ASAP.

I'm an Nvidia guy but I'd choose anything over the 970, get the R9 390,
with the R9 390 you're pretty much safe with VRAM for quite awhile.
