No. I mean, you've not really given us a lot of information. What's the system being used for? Has it already been bought? How much is/was it? What specific 850W EVGA PSU is it? The B1 unit? B2, G1, G2, GS, GQ? Or maybe it's a Platinum/Titanium, rated unit? The CPU is old, and poo. AM3+ is an uber dead socket and should be avoided at all costs at this point, especially considering AM4 should be out any minute now. Plus, the 8350 gives you zero upgrade options without a new motherboard anyway. Cooler is a little inadequate and low-end for a rig with components that are on the higher end, like the 970 and what not.

Skylake i3 with a nasty OC will 100% smash an 8350's back doors in. Seen a bunch of 6100's hit 4.4GHz+, so yeah, single core performance on that would be far better than an 8350. Only time an 8350 is going to win, is in multi-threaded tasks against an i3, but even then, a quad core i5 will perform better than an 8350 in many multi-threaded tasks.

You're quite clearly a AMD fanboy if you're still supporting your obligation that a 8350 is better than any intel cpu when quite clearly you have just been proven wrong. you can pick up a skylake i3 for £8 cheaper than a fx 8350 and it will out perform it on almost everything

That i3 is a complete waste of money... £30 more for a 200MHz higher clock speed.. that £30 would get you a Z170 board that you could OC the i3 with.
