PSU depends on budget. As for GPU, the 390 will be fine on a CX600. I'd still upgrade asap, but if you must, you'll be able to run the 390 on a CX600. The 970 is more efficient than the 390, yes, but the 390 isn't really an inefficient card per se.

Nope. That's still a pretty poor quality unit.

Could you recommend one please, would it not be better to get higher than 550w for the 390? Thanks

I did recommend one. Quality>quantity. A good quality 450-500W unit would be more than enough for an R9 390 rig, ezpz.

I have the R9 380 4GB (it's not the 390) but it performs very well and it lets me run most games on very high/ultra. I have the catalyst controll panel with plays.tv, because I don't trust the new drivers and honestly it is not hard to get used to it.

Um, no it doesn't. What are these "features" you speak of, that the 970 has more of? The 390 and 970 both have exclusive features, that doesn't make one better, unless a specific feature is required, which isn't the case these days(mostly).
Faux25 wrote then amds crimson and a better control panel
That's a matter of opinion.

Really? Have you used Crimson yourself at all? I have, and I've had less issues with Crimson on the 380 I've been using recently than issues I've had with GFE on my 970(main rig). So don't talk out your ass, thx. xoxo
would either of these be good ? [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] Orr this [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
thanks for all your help
